Tahmid has always been passionate about supporting people to improve their health, wellbeing, and quality of life. Through his early experiences in health promotion and community work, Tahmid discovered Occupational Therapy and went on to complete his Master of Occupational Therapy. He is a registered Occupational Therapist with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).

Tahmid has a strong passion for working with children and supporting their development through a holistic and strengths-based approach. Prior to becoming an Occupational Therapist, he gained extensive experience working with children through his role as a youth group coordinator and volunteering with a children’s charity, supporting children and families through play, connection, and sensory-based experiences.

Tahmid strongly believes that meaningful relationships are the foundation of effective therapy. His approach is grounded in neuro-affirming, child-led, and relationship-based practice, where children are supported to feel safe, understood, and valued. He recognises that regulation, connection, and trust are essential foundations that allow children to confidently explore, learn, and develop new skills.

Known for his warm, energetic, and compassionate nature, Tahmid enjoys building strong relationships with children and their families. He works collaboratively with parents, educators, and support networks to understand each child’s individual strengths, interests, and needs, ensuring therapy is meaningful and tailored to their everyday life.

Tahmid founded The Nurturing Hand Supports and Therapy with the vision of creating a space where neurodiversity is embraced and every child feels safe, seen, supported, and empowered. Through a “bottom-up” approach, TNH focuses on understanding each child’s unique nervous system, developmental journey, and environment, supporting children to build the foundations they need to participate, grow, and thrive.
